Mindy Becker – Founder

Mindy Becker of Auntie “M” to the Rescue! LLC. has been working with children and families for over 15 years. As a Barry University Suma Cum Lade graduate, she majored in Exceptional Student Education (ESE).  She was first introduced to Conscious Discipline® six years ago where she used some of the strategies with medically fragile children while working at the Pre-Kindergarten ESE District Office in Miami-Dade County. She went on to teach for MDCPS Pre-K ESE Program after many years working at private schools with all ages and developmental stages. Mindy started her own business as a parent and professional coach using Conscious Discipline with her clients. She educates parents on how to use the skills in their home and encourages professionals to incorporate and implement the philosophy into their profession or class room. In addition she has presented parent and educator workshops in Dade, Broward, and Monroe County, Atlanta Georgia, and Asheville North Carolina. Mindy has also led professional development workshops to early childhood and elementary educators with a focus on Conscious Discipline®. Mindy received certification as a Conscious Discipline® Instructor in 2007.

Lina

Lina Bergouignan is a Certified Conscious Discipline® Instructor who captivates audiences with her passion and knowledge of Conscious Discipline®. After earning a B.S. from the University of Florida, Lina became a Montessori teacher where she witnessed dramatic changes in her classroom with this program. Empowered by her experience as a single mother who brought Conscious Discipline® to her home, she delivers a hopeful and humorous message. Truly gifted in the conveyance of the Conscious Discipline® approach, Lina offers guidance to families in both English and Spanish. Lina also trains and mentors teachers of all grade levels ranging from infants to Middle School.

Alison

Alison Heiss McLaney has been working with children and families for over 12 years. Her passion for helping "unlock" children's potential started in college, where she earned her Masters degree in elementary education, with a specialization in Reading. Ali taught first grade for 4 years in Broward County, before taking a break to launch Tutor Miami, where she applied her teaching skills to help struggling children achieve success. Ali was first introduced to conscious discipline (CD) as a teacher and she furthered her study of CD when she became a mother in 2006. In 2008, she launched Ready for Baby, Inc. in response to the direct need for baby consultants in the Greater Miami area, although she has been dishing out advice for much longer.

Julie

Julie Becker Schantz has been studying and practicing Conscious Discipline® since 2006, after her youngest daughter was born. She has a BFA in Fine Art Photography and an MS in Art Education (K-12 certification) and taught elementary art in Dade County Public Schools from 1997 to 1999. In 2002 she and her family moved to Asheville, NC, where they currently live. Julie has been very busy organizing and coordinating many community projects, as well as painting murals and furniture for children, and doing henna tattoos for pregnant women and women's gatherings. She is excited to be a part of the Grow With Us family, helping Mindy develop some of the classes and flyers, helping organize and maintain the website and Facebook page, and assisting with public relations.
